Are you a Cow or Buffalo?

When I asked my sister for her best time management advice,
the last thing I expected was an explanation of the difference between cows and buffalo, but that's exactly what she offered.
She said she had learned once in a corporate training that -
We can either respond to challenges like a cow, or a buffalo.
Let me explain.
Animals can sense when a storm is approaching, and when a cow feels one coming it runs away from it, in the opposite direction. Cows are not exactly known for their speed, so inevitably the storm catches up. This makes it impossible to outrun, and the cows find themselves in the midst of it.
Buffalo, on the other hand, run directly toward the storm, allowing them to pass through it more quickly and end up safely on the other side.
Same storm, two approaches.
Humans do the same thing!
Consider how much time and effort you sometimes put into procrastinating an overwhelming task - running away from it, like a cow.
Still, it chases you down.
You know the feeling! Once the task catches up, you have not only prolonged the inevitable, but are left more exhausted when finally forced to face it.
New life motto - Be a Buffalo.
When a task or undertaking on the horizon is overwhelming, find ways to charge toward, rather than away, from it.
Remind yourself that whatever the storm, the feeling of coming out on the other side is worth the charge forward.
