Time Givers

What are two things that take time away from your day, while simultaneously adding to it?
It sounds like a riddle, but it’s not.
The answers are (1) sleep and (2) exercise.
Sleep and exercise are often the first things to go in the name of accomplishing more - Feeling overwhelmed? Stay up late to catch up! Behind on your to-do list? Skip the gym!
This is backward.
Both sleep and exercise are proven to have a significant impact on mood, energy and focus, all of which are essential to showing up as your best self.
Taking time to rest or move your body ultimately allows for greater productivity.
Joseph Cossman said -
"The best bridge between despair and hope is a good night's sleep."
And the same can be said for a good walk or workout. (Cossman, by the way, made millions from inventing the ant farm, so let’s all take note!)
The next time you’re tempted to slog through and forgo sleep or movement in the name of getting more done, consider the magnified capacity of a well-cared for mind and body.
It’s an investment that returns generously in the form of fresh energy and motivation.
